| This may be a stupid question considering how many people have them but, is the auto bcg legal to the common person. I read somewhere that auto parts like triggers and bcg's are illegal. But that some bcg's are labled auto but are different from the true auto design. I'm looking to get an auto bcg from bravo company. Pretty sure it's fine but I just want to double check first. |
| they have the letter ATF lette ron their page saying an m16 bolt does not make a full auto gun in itself. I hadnt seen the letter they had before. I had only seen the older one where it was iffy. Check your state laws to make sure. If it isnt you may still be able to use it depending on the wording. They are pretty easy to modify it so they couldnt be used as a full auto bolt. I just got the Bravo BCG it's sweet. |

You see a lot of yes its legal, no its not legal stuff floating around. Then you see some letter that someone posted supposedly from the ATF saying as long as it doesnt fire auto it is ok. Well I cant find anything on the actual BATF site and I can make an official looking letter that says anything. With the right timing I might even be able to get my Col to sign it too.
When I see something on the BATFE website actually saying its ok, I will consider it. Until then if I need BCG. I will buy one that I know beyond a doubt is fine. They are pretty much the same price anyway. |

They are legal until....
1. The BATFE confiscates your AR 2. They drill a hole in your lower receiver 3. They add a full auto fire control group to the lower 4. They fire your AR on full auto, thus proving your intent to build an illegal machinegun by adding full auto bolt carrier group. |
| Thank you for your replies. Yes, my search button is broken. Actually I can't find it, I know it's around here somewhere. There are so many stupid rules that we have to follow in order to legally own an AR especially in Cali that it can get confusing. I'm happy to have found a site like this where people are sharing info and willing to help out newbs like me. |

Anybody who states that it does or is illegal is delusional and has no idea what they are talking about. |
