Are there any barrel manufacturers who autofrettage their barrels?

Umm....  being cost and material specific, I'm sure the grade of high end rifle barrels are better than that of cannon steel and wouldn't necessitate it, and by the very process, I'm sure a hand lapped match barrel would prove MUCH more accurate.  I don't see this process as producting match grade barrels by any means.  The accuracy of a cannon can be determined at great distances because of sheer weight the projectiles are much less prone to wind drift.

If you want something hard, get one of the Rock 5R barrels that have been overlapped to be chromed... one of the dealers here sells these.

Or....

You might want to consider one of John Noveske's Extreme Duty barrels.

Or...

Any chrome-lined barrel will probably be harder than the bore of an autofretted tube...

I was more interested in the pressure and wear advantageous: the ability of a barrel to sustain higher pressures with a thinner contour, maintain accuracy during high rate of fire (heat build-up), and barrel life.

Also, I read an article last night on using a Ti sleeve to hold a pressure vessel under compression to accomplish the same desired results mentioned above.  It was publish by a group of professors at USMA.  Just wondering if anyone has seen or conducted any similar research?
