| Well my lower is finally assembled, I'm waiting on my barrell and the remaining upper parts to arrive so the last thing I need is a bcg. I've been looking for the last few days and my head is spinning with all the options ranging from $100 to $400 bcg's. Is there really that much of a difference in bcg's? I've been looking at the bcm auto bcg for $149 from bcm or there are also no name MP tested bcg's for a little less, can someone fill me in on the differences? Thanks |
| you want to make sure that the carrier shrouds the firing pin, so the hammer is cocked by the bolt carrier and not by putting pressure on the firing pin... my early Colt is cut away, and the shoulder of the firing pin badly peened ...replaced it with an M16 carrier from BCM... |

Just because you have a PSA upper and lower doesn't mean you need a PSA BCG. As long as its a quality BCG as previously stated (PSA, BCM, DD, LMT, etc.) Opinions will differ on headspacing a new AR. I never have and probably never will, haven't had a problem as of yet. There is the remote possibility that something was machined wrong and your headspace could be off, so to me its all personal preference. |
