Why can no manufacture make a BCG or any Company keep decent ones in stock. It does not seem that hard to do. Are the companies just waiting to be able to up prices even more? Was about to order a BCM BCG to finish off my build to find out that they are sold out like everyone else. Venting, Thanks. Now that is over is their another affordable brand that is in stock somewhere? Really do not want to drop 200 on one, or should I just start to piece together an 1911 and shelf this build till after the election. Help/input would be appreciative.
Also what about putting an BCM bolt into another brand carrier? |

Also what about putting an BCM bolt into another brand carrier? As long as the bolt carrier is from a reputable manufacturer, I can't imagine that you'd have a problem. As for the rant, life sucks right now. I was able to find a bolt carrier at Brownells a few days ago. Complete BCGs are harder to find in stock. Take a look at Kari's Guns in Kansas City, MO. Isn't it funny that we'll spend hours freezing our asses of waiting for Bambi to walk by, but we get pissed HUNTING for parts? |
| You can mix and match carriers and bolts with no problems. Pretty much all the AR-15 carriers are made to the same spec. The bolts will be the same as well with the exception of the locking lug end will be dependent on the specific caliber round it's made for. I know of a company that has had 1000 carriers on order since like Jan and is still waiting. This is industry wide. |

They're not doing it on purpose, keep in mind that a company stays in business by being as efficient as possible. This means that they have the minimum number of workers working the minimum number of hours on the minimum amount of equipment required to fulfill demand. In the last couple years, demand has skyrocketed and although a company can hire more workers, they can't always get the equipment to do it. And besides, with an election looming, what if a company does invest in more manufacturing capability and then they get smacked with an AWB and the demand drops off? Now they just spent all this money and can't make a profit. Trust me, nobody is doing this on purpose. Take a Business 101 class, the worst thing a company can do is hold back product when there are competitors on the market that will step up an fill the void (especially in a case like a BCG that has no patents and anyone can make it and/or there is very little brand loyalty, if Ferrari holds back on releasing cars, people will still line up to pay exorbitant, jacked up prices but if Ford held back on F-150's people would just got buy a Silverado, Tundra, etc.).
Again, this is not on purpose. They are being produced as quickly as possible, and they are being bought even faster. ETA: Worth giving a quick read: linky |

http://store.ar15.com/product.html?cat=45&pr=579 Quanticotactical.com have some LMT auto carriers only or complete BCG. Quantico LMT BCG link Or what about DD chrome finished if you don't mind the bling (hurry last one in stock). http://www.operationparts.com/Daniel_Defence_Complete_Bolt_Carrier_Group_Chrome_p/dd-9300-c.htm Midwest Industries got some BCM bolt assembly only, NOT the complete BCG. http://midwestindustriesinc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID=1111 Last resort would probably be the EE or GunBroker, good luck on your hunt. |
