| trying to decide what BCG to get YM or spikes nickle boron??? what yall think??? |
|
A couple people have had problems with their NiB BCG gluing itself to their upper. They will chime in soon. The failure rate or problems with NiB is very, very low. I was slow to warm to NiB, now am very happy with mine and CANNOT replicate the problems a couple people report. I have 7-8000 rounds thru 2 rifles with NiB BCGs and have nothing to complain about, they clean up very easily. I still have several standard phosphated BCGs that work just as well, they do not clean up as easily. NiB or chrome BCGs probably have about the same failure rate as phosphate, very low.
I will buy more NiB carriers, they work fine in my rifles. |

I would only go for the NiB BCG if I have a sound suppressor, which I don't have so I'm content with the standard mil-spec finish.
The only chromed finish that I have is a rare LMT bolt assembly on a standard finish M16 FA carrier which the factory made a one time only upgrade mistake back in mid 2005. I'm just running the proven brands like Colt, LMT, and BCM, other good ones are Daniel Defense, LaRue, PSA, Rainier Arms ThunderBolt, Spike's, etc. Whatever you get make sure the carrier gas key is properly staked. |
