Does the BCM KeyMod Panel Kit provide any noticeable protection from heat under high rates of fire? They are very slim and low profile, so I'm just curious if you guys have any input based on personal experience.

They in fact do block a lot of heat from the barrel.

How much do they weigh?
I'm sure 1 is next to nothing, but if you add 5 or 6 are you getting up to an ounce or 2?

Yes they do a great job with heat and are extremely thin so they don't add much bulk at all. If you search youtube Mrgunsngear did a video with temps before and after firing several strings.
