On my current build recently got my ar performance barrel in and I was wondering if the BCM LowPro using set screws would be fine for a hunting rifle as long as it is under a free float rail. I gues the main question is do I need to be worried about the gas block coming loose in this situation?

I would not worry about just using the set screws as you are mentioning. Especially since the gas block is underneath your rail.
