| I'm collecting parts for a BCM build and have pretty much everything I need for the upper with the exception of a low profile gas block and tactical handguard. Then it's on to the lower but it doesn't look like they sell stripped receivers. So my question.....Is anyone running one of their Lower Receiver Groups and what do you think of the trigger system? |

Then it's on to the lower but it doesn't look like they sell stripped receivers. So my question.....Is anyone running one of their Lower Receiver Groups and what do you think of the trigger system? Trigger is just like any other mil-spec style(since they are semi auto) trigger. You can always replace it down the road with a better one if you don't like it. I put one of their lowers on my 20 inch bcm upper. Seems pretty good. |

Its quality is on par with a Colt 6920. In fact, the trigger in my BCM midlength feels exactly like the trigger in my 6920. Both are very nice single action triggers with no creep, and they break cleanly. With the small parts, like triggers, it's not necessarily what you can see that counts. All "mil-spec" AR-15 triggers look identical, but is it machined to proper tolerances? Is the steel it's cast from suitable? Is it properly heat treated and not too soft, or too hard to be brittle? Is the trigger spring a quality unit, or is it cheap Chinese shit? How about the hammer? The same rules apply. Not to mention the hammer and trigger pins... Basically what I'm saying is it's not always just the "how does it feel" you need to take into consideration. In this case, I see no need for an "upgraded" less-reliable single stage trigger. It breaks cleanly probably somewhere around 5 or 6 pounds and is actually quite nice. If you want a two stage trigger I think the only answer is Geissle. |
| Better is pretty subjective here but Is the Spikes Tactical considered a better or at least on par LPK? I can't say I know much about them other than after looking I know I like their logo! LOL I'll do some research but if they are I may consider getting one of their complete lowers ($100 less than Bravo), and I don't need to worry about changing anything out. Money saved there could buy me my stock |
| Skip that question....I've been reading through other forums and BCM seems to be rated pretty high on everyones list. I'm going to keep this one all BCM and maybe think about building a Spikes later. I have an M4 but I'm essentially a newby at this. Kind of caught the bug |
