This is my first AR and first rifle. I have shot an AR only once before this. I have had only a pistol and shotgun previously. Specs below

I bought the lower and parts kit at a gunshow in Novi, MI in August. Everything else has been been rolling in from time to time as I had the funds.

I have a list with the parts and how much they cost: (Without shipping)

Charles Daly Defenst Lower: $130
DPMS LPK: $60
Spikes Tactical Stock and buffer kit with MOE and ST-T2 Heavy Buffer: $110
Magpul MOE Grip: $20
BCM Upper Reciever: $88
BCM Gunfight CH Mod4: $45
BCM Auto BCG: $140
BCM 16" Midlength Barrel: $229
Larue 10" FF Handguard (bought from BCM): $284
Spikes Tactical VFG: $35
Viking Tactics 2-point Sling: $45
Troy Flip-up Iron Sights: $208
YHM Low Pro Gas block: $22
PK middie Gas tube: $13
PK Gas Tube roll pin: $ .75
ETA DUH! A2 Flash Hider: $8
Crush Washer: $2

Total Build: $1439.75

That covers it all I think.

I have had a few chances to shoot it and it probably only has around 400 or so rounds through it so far. A member from here, Forrest0872, helped me battle zero the sight in at 50 yrds and I learned a lot from him that day. I ended the day shooting a 5 shot group with my iron shots at 50 yrds that a silver dollar can cover up. Shown in the pics. We didn't have any targets left so I just stuck a piece of tape on the lower cardboard and shot at that.

On to pics:

I guess I have to have one of these to make it legit...

Target from the day at the range. We ran a lot of drills at 25 feet or so and this was the result. My first time doing any tactical training at all. All of my 5.56 shots were in the black except two. My 9mm are the other shots not on black.

Silver Dollar next to the five shot group.

Next to my CZ P-01 which is one heck of a gun in itself:

Gunfighter

More BCM goodies:

My father-in-laws AR I helped him build. Actually, I did it all basically It is a Tac Innovations Billet lower with Larue Stealth upper and some other goodies like Harris bi-pod, MIAD, Nikon Monarch glass which is pretty nice and a Laure Mount for it. Still have yet to take it to 100 yrds.

Thats it guys. Let me know what you think.

It is milcomm. Anything wrong with that? What would be the reason for not putting grease on AR's? I thought I had researched everything but not this I guess.

Haha, yeah, just happened to have those on. I think those are just regular cotton socks though. Thanks for the complements guys! I did A LOT of research. So much so my wife got sick of this forum being on the computer every time I am on! I appreciate all the help from this website. I know for sure that I would not have this gun without the help and that I would have gotten something maybe cheaper but not as good as quality.

Build on guys and girls

(I will post in the BCM thread too)

You will get mixed opinions on the use of grease for ARs, but the majority will say to use oil, Slip 2000 EWL and Mobil 1 are probably the most popular.

Nice stick BTW.

grease  can get real thick in lower temps, almost combining with carbon fouling into a solid mass.
The M1's were desinged to run with grease,as they had no high tec lubricants.
I have had a real hard time getting grease out of my modern semi's,some have turned
into solid masses stuck in nooks and crannys
Of course grease would be better than running them completely dry in a pinch .....Great job on your middie, you did your homework
using quality parts !!!

Wipe that grease of your weapon and learn how to properly lubricate an AR

Otherwise great looking stick!

This.

Some types of ammo can be very dirty and the grease basically turns into a black, thick paste.  I use grease on a variety of other guns, including my M1, but not my ARs.
