I can't decide which barrel to get with my BCM upper.  The enhanced lightweight or the standard government profile?  Besides being lighter weight what are other benefits to the enhanced lightweight?  Are there any negatives?  Which would have better accuracy?

The heavier weight barrel will have theoretically better accuracy due to greater rigidity and more material to soak up heat.  The ELW will be lighter, less rigid, less material to soak up heat.

I have a 16" BFH (medium contour), a 14.5" ELW-F, a 11.5 BFH medium, and a 11.5" ELW-F.  Most of my shooting i prefer the lighter rifles as they're easier to handle and better balanced.

Make sure to go with the KMR/KMR-A regardless of barrel choice.  They're an excellent lightweight handguard.

Here are my results from a BCM 16" ELW-F Barrel shooting federal varmint 50g ammo .... Using a 6x scope

5 shot MOA measurements right to left are: .77, 1.60, .85, .87, 1.04
10 shot MOA measurements right to left are: 1.27, 1.36

I'm sure with a higher magnification scope I could have done better .... Those ELW-F barrels shoot very well .... All those groups were shot back to back and I never gave it a chance to cool

If I were getting a barrel today, ELW-F.

In fact, I'm looking for a reason to buy one.

BCM barrels are generally pretty mediocre. It shouldn't matter too much which one you get, accuracy wise.

Get the ELW, don't get the fluted version, you don't save much weight at all on that barrel.

They're not sub moa barrels which makes them mediocre

For sure on the KMR.  I have 2 already and they are very nice.
