Ordered another BCM assembled upper receiver and it has some weird stake/punch mark? Not sure what it is for, or if just a tool mistake.
Does anyone know? Pic:

Yeah, I mean at first glance it looks like a stake, but no material is pushed into where the pin would go, so that's kind of out.
Also, I have never heard of these coming out so makes me think it's a tool mark from slipping. Plus, its a roll pin, which needs no staking. |
| Yup. That is a mark from the nipple on a roll pin punch, and given the size, looks like it was from a roll pin punch the size of the one used to drive the FA pin...someone missed on the first strike. Won't affect anything, though I agree with above statement; Let BCM know. |
