I've looked at the chart (M4 comparison chart) as far as quality, they are almost identical. I'm looking into getting a mid-length upper and want to put a DD Omega X 9.0 on it. BCM does not have them in stock but should in about 4-8 weeks. I want this configuration in their standard barrel which isn't online but they said they will have it at that time. PK Firearms has a DD mid-length with a DD Omega X 9.0 installed. Both are about the same price. I'm in no hurry but I'm not sure if I wait for BCM, they will still have their prices discounted. What are your thoughts on one or another???

If I am not mistaken the PK Daniel Defense upper is not assembled by DD. Rather it is a DD barrel that PK assembles themselves using a CMT upper, and RRA BCG. If this is the case I would probably go BCM, or buy the PK DD upper and sell the BCG for a BCM unit.

Just my .02

Both are great quality uppers.  But as long as I have been here, which isn't very long,  I don't recall many people picking a DD over a BCM.  Personally I haven't fired a DD, but I absolutely love my Bcm middy.  I would wait for it if you aren't in a hurry.  Just my .02 cents worth.

Thanks. I was kind of leaning toward the BCM.

I have a DD complete rifle and it is top of the line. Shoots great groups. I don't have any experience with BCM but it is well spoken of on here.

BCM has awesome CS but you...You can't knock DD customer service.  I had a problem with my lower, I called customer service, someone answered the phone!!!!.  Within 2 mins they were sending me a shipping label to to send back my lower.  2 weeks later I gota  brand new lower shipped.

truth. they are assembled by pk. i bought one not too long ago (shipped out next day and arrived on schedule) and i still think it was a good buy, but if i were to do it over again i would buy bcm upper for 420, then add a nice bcg. total price would be close.

cmt upper < bcm upper imo

I bought a DD upper from PK for my brothers Christmas present.  It was awesome, and I would buy again.  I also have a BCM upper and I don't consider it any better than the DD I bought for my brother.  I would say they are equal and so I would buy the one that is in stock.  Both PK and Bravo Company are excellent, but if you want to make sales, you gotta have product in stock.  JMHO.

did i read somewhere that d.d. said at the shot show they were coming out with a factory mid-length???? that will give bcm some decent competition, as they pretty well rule the mid-length market.

The DD middies are supposed to be available in March. There's the XVM with standard handguards, M4V3 with Omega X 9" rail, a 6.8 verison of the V3, and the Ambush, a 6.8 with a 12" smooth FF handguard that you can attach rails to. All of them have CHF CL barrels.

PK doesn't have the name BCM has but there DD builds are just as good.  I have owned several of both.  The BCG PK uses is a RR semi auto with a CMT bolt.  The BCM allows you to choose your BCG.  A BCM with a RR BCG is equal to a PK DD with a RR BCG......   So really the BCG is the only difference.  The RR isn't bad, the BCM is just better- MPI, etc.  The resale on the BCM will be better to.  Other than that's it's personal preference.  I'm comfortable with either.

So last night as I was drooling on BCM's website, I decided to check out the New Products-Just In link. I see the combo that I want in stock. 16" mid-lenght standard barrel with a DD Omega X 9" in stock. It's not listed with the other combos that I've been checking out under their 16" Mid Length Upper Group. I'm glad I just stumbled accros the just in link because I ordered it today.

Why does BCM not sell complete rifles on it's site?  Not sure I've seen a complete BCM rifle anywhere. Not a big deal really, just never knew why.

I for one would want to buy the upper and the lower separately.  It saves you some money.  Federal Excise Tax.

Yeah, I see that now. Kind of weird it wasn't with the 16" mid length uppers. I hear they ship fast. Can't wait!

I know it's late, and congratulations on your upcoming present to yourself, but I do feel as if I've got to put a good word in for PK Arms' builds.

I wouldn't hesitate to have them build an upper out of any number of parts that are available.  I am more than happy with mine.

Everyone always speaks of BCM`s service, but when I call to order something or to have a question answered it goes right to a answering machine saying they are to busy with orders for answering the phones. So how is this good service if you can not even get a live body on the phone? I mean I never had a issue with anything I ordered from them, unlike La Police Gear, US cav., and other non forum sponsors.

Email bravocompany at wi.rr.com

BCM is a small company compared to a huge distributor like LAPG.

Someone answering the phones all day is someone NOT packaging a million tiny orders or assembling products or testing uppers.

Thank you, but because I was not able to talk to someone at this business I ended up purchasing products from other venders. That might also be the case with other customers (new and repeat).

No I still purchase stuff from them from time to time, but not being able to ask them when they will restock items or questions about products was the issue. So I ended up just buying from other forum sponsors.

I've always just left a message or emailed them they have always gotten back with me in a reasonable time frame.

Same w/ Denny at Global Tactical.  Heck during the Obama rush I've bs-ed with him for hours.
