I am looking for a stripped lower for my first build. I called a dealer I know and he said he has DPMS, Armalite and Bushmaster each for $195.00 each. I was wondering which lower is best?

MEGA -- around 135.00

you WILL NOT find a finer finished lower in the industry regardless of name or brand.

Where are you located here in CT. Hoffmans sell stag lowers for $99.00

The great state of "New Germany", ......um.....  I mean New Jersey.

I've built up three Stag lowers in the past month, and I thought all of them were well made.

By far, Essential Arms are the best bang for the buck.
IMHO

+1 on the stag lowers.  everything dropped right in.  No machining marks and the finish was dark and even.

+1 for E.A.

I am good with Stag as well.

For the money, Stag then go to Mega and SunDevil. I like Mega and SunDevil. You can get a Stag or Mega HERE

Mega, Mega, Mega.

Hey, I sound like a cheerleader.

Get their uppers too.

I think Mega may make the Stag receiver. Perhaps someone who knows for sure can chime in.

No, Stag is made by it's parent company CMT.

Seeing as you're here in the PRNJ with us, you should talk to PK90 at Arms-n-Ammo about a stripped lower.  Good prices, best service, great guy. And a Team member here.

The best deal I've found is $199 for a complete Ameetec lower.  I paid $224 shipped for mine with an H buffer.  $195 is way to much for a stripped lower IMO.

Another vote for Mega

I was getting pissed over the 7 week wait to get my Ameetec forged lower but now have it and am very happy with it.  Color match is great on my tax sale bushy upper and fit is perfect.  Complete with stock for $200 is hard to beat.

I'm partial to DPMS or Ameetec for complete lowers, but if you want a stripped lower, the only ones I've bought have been the CavArms MK 2's and the Superior Arms, I was a little dissapointed in the finish of the Superior Arms, but they work just great...

Couldn't beat the price though, with shipping and transfer fees I think I got them for 90 each off gunbroker.

+1 on sabre defense, best rollmark in the industry in my opinion. Super fit and finnish.

+17263 for Mega. I now have 2 matched upper/lower sets, with one recently built in to a complete rifle.

$135 for a Mega lower versus $100 for a Stag. To me, the extra 35 bucks was worth the beautiful rollmarks, tight fit, and deep teflon finish...

My first Mega set:

The second set:

EXCELLANT LOOKING BUILD.
I HAVE TWO SETS MEGA UPPERS AND LOWERS ALSO. ONE SET HAS BEEN SENT OUT TO GET "KG KOTED" IN OD, HOPE TO HAVE IT BACK NEXT WEEK. HOW ABOUT A RANGE REPORT ON THAT RIFLE...

I just bought 3 lowers from Spikes Tactical and I'm impressed. I've only built on one so far but no problems. Every bit as good as my Bushmaster lower I built my first one on. $100 + shipping.

I have a Sun Devil coming, anyone have a pic showing one in their build?

I have recently used Stag, doublestar & Sabre.

Sabre is the best.
Stag is the worst.
Doublestar is the best value, cheapest and better than Stag.

Sabre Defence looks very nice as well!

I don't think you can go wrong with ANYTHING mentioned in this thread so far..

I like the DPMS lowers, available from RGuns for $105.

A lower is a lower to me.  Best finish though has to be Mega.  It's a dark black, not some grayish black, brownish black or purple black like some of the other lowers I have seen.

I got a line on complete Superior lower with ambi safety, hogue grip and Stag six position stock for 235.00

I have a Stag that is fantastic, a Rock River that fit most uppers a little loosly, but finish-wise is great, and a mega and Noveske on the way to my FFL tommorow.
