Hi,
I know it probably has been asked before but i cannot find any answer: Is the main difference, between BFH and Standard, only the increased life of the barrel? no accuracy increase? I'm just trying to justify the extra $90 (BCM) but if there isn't anything else but increased life, i think i'll get the standard. any help would be appreciated. By the way, it would mostly be used at the range, probably around 1000 rounds a year, maybe a class a year or something... |

There is some information there. I don't have any experience with BFH barrels, but to my understanding it is just a different process of barrel making. For your intended use, a standard barrell should be fine. I'm no expert though. |
| Given a button rifled barrel and a hammer forged barrel of equal quality, neither is superior to the other. Hammer forging is just another (less expensive) way of rifling a barrel. Of course, people trying to pay off the machines that produce those barrels would never market that though. |

| Hammer forged, chrome lined AR15 barrels either come from FN or Daniel Defense. That knowledge is nice for me to know. Maybe there is no advantage to quality hammer forged vs quality button rifled but no one makes a poor quality hammer forged barrel AR15 barrel. Can you say the same about all button rifled barrels? |
