I currently own a Bushmaster XM15-E2S W/ Freefloated Bull Barrel National Match. It is rather heavy and not the most pleasant to lugg around when scouting or just walking the woods. I love the weapon, don't get me wrong, just heavy.
My question; Will the upper's from another manufacturer fit on my BM lower with out modifications? I'm aware of the Colt systems needing a specific bolt to attach. But what about those from Rock river Armory, Olympic, DPMS and Armalite.

That's the beauty of the AR system... Swap the uppers all you like.  Several of my Bushmaster lowers are wearing ArmaLite uppers...

Not all Colt's upper need the adapter pin.  Many Colt's uppers have small pivot pin.  My Colt's upper with 20" Government Profile barrel has a front lug with the regular (small) sized pivot hole.  Get a Colt's upper if you could.  You would really appreciate the fine workmanship.

Or, I can sell you a complete Bushmaster's upper (16" barel with a flash hider and bayonet lug) for really cheap (victim of unemployment).
