Iwant to put a flip up buis on my flat top to go with a red dot. I'm already a little over budget, so I'm looking at the Bushmaster version of the arms #40 for $75.00 instead of $100.00 for the arms. Would I regret this choice because I know everyone here seems to love the arms and I don't here to much about the Bushmaster setup. Also can I mount these sights directly to the flat top reciever and still have the correct height for the standard a2 front sight. Thanks in advance for any help BASE-RIGGER |

The best rear iron sight remains the handle that comes with the M4 and M14A4. Got one? Use a few hand tools and cut the handle so all you have left is the sight and the base where it clamps to the receiver rail. Clean it up on a belt sander and slop on some Aluminum Black finish. Mount it and you're good to go. KISS. Noting to flip, zip, or move if something happens to the dot. Just drop your eye half an inch and shoot thru the irons. Zero both to the same point (IBSZ) and the trajectories will be identical. -- Chuck |

I had one of the cut off carry handles. Solid and reliable but blocks the EOTech so you have to use two different cheek welds for dot / irons. Now I'm an ARMS 40 fan. Especially the newer one with the flattened windage knob. Fold it down and you don't notice it's there. Flip it up and you're ready to go. It's top quality and rock solid. |
