I went with a LaRue fixed BUIS. It's the lightest BUIS made and looks like it's rock solid. It has less moving parts to break and has a throw lever for easy on and off. I can't wait to get my first FT upper to install all my stuff I've bought. Here's a tread about the Larue BUIS www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=18&t=189539 Colt_SBR |
very true does anyone have pictures of the LMT Buis with a optic? |
Saw at least 2 on this thread ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=12&t=221096 |
thanks, it does appear to be big and you wouldnt be able to mount an optic that far back on the receiver |
+1 for the ARMS [email protected] www.mooneysfirearms.com |
I really like those EOTech's on your site can you give me an email about "the best price"? How does everyone like the EOTech's? |
I just got a Troy Industries front and rear BUIS, and really like them. The rear is about the lowest profile you can get (or at least from what I've seen). They are very rigid in the up and locked position. If you think you won't have a problem with the BUIS when you get your optic, than I think a fixed rear BUIS is the way to go I.e., LMT, Larue etc.. because they have less moving parts. (IMHO) It seems that both of these are designed to allow useage with an Aimpoint but not with an ACOG. Just my .02 cents worth. Tack |
| I love the LMT BUIS. If you have the large aperture up and focus on your target then you won't even see the sight when using an EoTech. I don't know about Aimpoints or anything else. The BUIS is sweet, it's seems very rugged and I like the elevation adjustments. MJD |
is that a YHM 2 piece handguard? |
I have the same handguards and they are very solid. The top rail portion (which also includes the side rails) does not move one bit. It seems like it is part of the upper. The lower rail portion moves just a hair, but that is okay because the only thing I (and most people) mount on the lower rail is a TD forward grip. Overall, I think it is the best value for two-piece rails (over the RAS and RIS). |
