| I'm considering putting an acog on my M4. My question is what is the best setup to allow for quick use of BUIS? |

If you want a see through mount, you best bet would probably be to mount the ACOG directly to a detachable carry handle. The ACOG is designed with a see through mount of its own, and when installed on a carry handle, the iron sights remain usable. With anything "see through" type mount for an ACOG, though, you'd have to mount the ACOG much higher than it needs to be mounted. However, the ACOG was originally designed to be mounted on an AR carry handle. What kind of ACOG are planning on using? ~Augee |

TA31ECOS, comes with an ARMS throw lever mount. Has the buis on the side and the Doctor on the top. Add the buis of you choice and you are QUAD redundant.www.ar15.com/forums/manageSubscriptions.html?a=add&b=3&f=124&t=358253⊂=%3Cb%3ETRIJICON+TA31%2DECOS%3C%2Fb%3E Sir James... |
This is the same setupn I have. I dont have any kind of QD mount on my ACOG yet but I plan on getting one, that way if I do ever have my ACOG fail I can just pop it off and use the BUIS. |
LaRue mount with a Troy BUIS. Flip the levers remove the ACOG - flip up the Troy. Oh and leave the standard Front Sight Base on your barrel, not it won't bother your use of the ACOG. |
BEST option is a LaRue mount. To raise your optic so high as to have see through channel, as another poster pointed out you might as well mount it to a detachable carry handle. But using a scope on top of a carryhandle is not the best option. |
