I have been into the black rifle for about 6 months.  I own a Stag Model 2 which I LOVE.  I am a full on AR-15 sicko now and am slowly putting the puzzle together in my mind to build my next rifle.  Remember, I am a noob so go easy on me if this sounds retarded.  If money wsnt an object, would this compilation work?   Is this the right idea?........ Noveske upper rec group, BCM BCG, LMT lower, Larue furniture w/ magpul stock?

not only would that work, but it would be pretty damn sweet.  By "LaRue furniture" I assume you mean rail?  Don't forget the Magpul MIAD.

yeah, furniture meaning Larue grips, rail, stock but i replaced Larue stock w/ Magpul.

Sounds lioke a good start. Change out the FCG to the RRA 2 stage if you want a real improvement in accuracy.

Not only would that work, it would kick ass.

LaRue doesn't make grips or stocks, it's Magpul.  Anyway, should be sweet.

since you want the best i'll suggest using the Young's MFG lightweight chrome BCG and the Timney skeletonized drop-in trigger:

That would be a kick ass rifle.  What BUIS would you use?  I like Troy for flip up (both front and rear) and LaRue for fixed rear.  Neither rear sight has elevation adjustment, I like that but a lot of guys don't.

The FUG is the only furniture that LaRue makes.  Do you mean the LaRue/Magpul UDE kit?

the troy is the best for 0-200, but if you prefer an elevation adjustment i'd suggest the Knights Armament 200-600 meter rear BUIS

definitely Troy BUIS.  Larue FUG and the rest of the furniture in Magpul dark earth

sounds like you've got one sweet potential build..now let's see how long it takes to get the dream build started...

Build it here.

http://www.larueprofiler.com/Profiler.html

I would use a LaRue stealth upper complete and a LaRue lower and the UDE set.

Tried to do it but could not get it to post on here.

Most likely it will be early next year, so i will have plenty of time to plan.  I compare this to building my custom BMX bike when I was a kid.  Only thing since that has been this exciting and fun to dream up since.

+1

Noveske and Larue are generally regarded as having the best barrels on the market. The barrel group, along with the BCG and trigger group, are the three major performance components. The rest, such as the stock, foregrip, rail system, etc., are all just a matter of asthetics/preference. That doesn't go to say that quality high-end furniture doesn't exsist (Magpul, Vltor, Daniel Defence, etc.), they just aren't as important as barrel, bolt, and trigger.

What does that Timiney Trigger go for?  Any idea?  I have the RRA 2 stage trigger in both my RRA and my LMT and love them - but was curious is all...  (That's the BRD asking...just saying...)

Thorm 001, that is very similar to the picture in my mind.....thanks.

$200 for the non-skeletonized, $250 or so for the skeletonized.   I have 2 rifles with RRA 2-stage triggers, and my new precision build has a Timney 4 lb trigger.  I love both triggers, the Timney is a single stage but very crisp and consistent.

Save the time and money and just buy a LaRue Stealth Upper.  Then you can buy a lower from them which is oh so beautiful.  After that it's just a matter of putting parts together.

Is Larue on par w/ Noveske upper receiver group and comparable to LMT for a lower?  What's the word on their barrels?

Let me put it to you this way.... I'm not a great shot.

30 rounds, 100 yards, off hand. LaRue 16" Stealth. I'm pretty sure a noveske group, from my hands, wouldn't look any better....

ETA: xm193 was used for that group. It tightens up a bit when you spend good money on match ammo.

Not in 5.56.  But they do sell stripped billet LT lowers to those who buy a complete upper.

Mine

The more I read about Larue the more I like em.  Seems like a real Patriotic outfit that appears to have great QC from all i've read.  Kind of a cheesy pic of the owner next to the airplane  I just for some reason looked at Larue accesories and not their gun parts.  Glad I got this board to get me looking in the right places.

"The Airplane"?....and  "I suppose your mother was.....just... 'A Mother'.....Arthur Herbert Fonzarelli aka "The Fonz" after Pottsie Weber ran over his bike

That's a Navion and in pristine condition.... Navion History

La Rue has done some great things for our military...and right in my own family...sent stuff to my Marine nephew for his SAW and
other Marines on his team..

They are very generous group of men and women...none finer..

imo

No need to bring anybody's Mother into the conversation.  Comparing a Mother to a plane, regardless of how cool it may be to you,  is pretty ridiculous.  I understand the pic now and why it is on there, so I appreciate that part of the response.

Ooops.  my bad, I jumped the gun.  Didn't read the Fonz part.  I've been known to jump to conclusions!
