Okay I completely failed at this install. Bent the roll pin in half. Anyone have advice for this install and also a source of charging handle roll pins. Thanks much.

Midway sells replacement roll pins.

As for how to do it, grow a third hand, find a friend to help, or learn to stick your tongue out *just* right while trying to get everything together.

I've replaced latches before by myself, but it generally involves lots of cursing.

The trick is to hold the latch in and lined up with the hole. If you have a vise, it will make it easier, but it isn't required. I take the roll pin and insert it in the hole on the top of the handle. Then I take a small punch and line up the holes from the bottom. I then tap the pin in and the punch out at the same time.

Thanks for the advice on midway. I thought of using a punch to hold the latch in after the fact, just like a bolt catch, I'll have to make a setup with the vise I like that idea. Thanks. Semper Fi.
