| I have a 4-16 mil dot scope with 10x being the standard mil reading setting. I just zero my AR for 250 yards. I know that 1 mil dot is equal to about 3.6 inches at 100 yards. With my zero being 250 yards, what would the first dot hold over be equivelant to? Is there a formula for this? |

There's no way to accurately answer that question without knowing caliber, bullet type, velocity, BC, altitude, and average temperature you will shoot at. However look up JBM Ballistics on the net and you can run calculations and get results in MOA and Mils. Enter in your data including zero range and choose mils. When it spits out the data, look at what range matches up the closest with 1 mil and there's your answer. We use this program at work often to run quick calculations for customers instead of going through the normal program and it's pretty accurate. Good luck. |
