I have a barrel that I am sending to ADCO to have a A2 FH and Bayonet lug FSB installed.  Before I do this, I was wondering if the barrel in it's ban configuration is needed by those in .... less than gun friendly states.

Bushmaster Chrome lined, 1/9 20" heavy barrel.

If you guys think it is better to trade it, then I will offer it up on the EE.  Otherwise it is off to ADCO in a week or two.

Thanks

Cost ADCOS work then Cost a new barrel.

I'd personally sell off the old and get a new one.

Do some research.  I found it better to sell my old ban-type upper and buy a new upper, rather than have my existing upper modified.  Saved a total of about $150.  YMMV.

ADCO pricing
Cost of work = $117
New barrel = $239

I am not opposed to selling it if someone in occupied territory needs a BAN era barrel.  Otherwise it is a great barrel, and I will only get rid of it to get a 20" with 1/7 twist to shoot neavier bullets.

So if you can sell the barrel for $122 cost is the same either way but you'll end up with a new barrel.

I'd bet you could put that barrel up for sale for $140-$150 shipped and come out slighly better off AND have a new barrel.

If the barrel is on an A1/A2 upper, I would sell the entire upper and barrel assembly, then buy an A3 upper and new preban type barrel.

I already have a flat top carbine, I like having the A2 also.  I liked Forest's idea, so I will probably put it up on the EE for a week or two.  If no takers, off to ADCO it goes.
Thanks  All.

iff you sell it say for $125 shipped with what the cost of the work would be you can have a new assembly in the configuration and way you want. You could however thread the muzzle yourself and if you can live without the lug itll cost you nothing.

Yeah, just the flash hider and install is about $30 + S&H.  I can live with out the bayonet lug.   I will sell the barrel if I can find a 20" A2 1/7 barrel.

Thanks again

Mike
