If I wanted to cut down the barrel on my rifle how much barrel would i have to leave past the gas block to have enough pressure to cycle the action?

Don't know but, dwell time is not the only thing that affects the action cycling.  The diameter of the gas port will have an effect also as will the buffer weight and buffer spring.

So, there are a number of things that must be taken into consideration.

What barrel and gas length?

Post the correct info in ADCO's forum, or send them an email, they will do it correctly for you.

I would like to cut down a 14.5 inch on a rifle length gas system which would leave 2.5 inches past the gas block.  Also I have access to a CNC machine.

Check your numbers again. Do you mean cut a rifle length barrel down to 16? Or a mid length down to 14.5?

A rifle length system is 12 inches so if you cut down a 16 inch barrel to 14.5 inches you would have 2.5 inches of barrel past the gas port.
