I want to take a Heavy 20" down to a 14.5" with a 1.5" flash suppressor. Can anyone direct me to the drawing of such a barrel that I can give to my machinist? Thanks in advance.

The bolt face intrudes into the barrel extension 3/8" and so the true/legal "end" or "start" or the barrel is really 3/8" further forward from the physical end of the barrel extension.

If your gunsmith measures from the end of the barrel extension forward to the muzzle, he has to remember to add .375" before cutting.

16.100 + .375 - 1.0 Flash hider = cut at 15.475" (which is under the 16 legal min, so you must perm pin-weld the FH on).

Or:
16.100 + .375 = cut at 16.475 which is truely/legally just a 16.1 barrel and no perm welding of the FH is needed.

Have someone double check my math...

Do you plan on filling the old gas port and drilling one at the carbine postion?

The reason I am going to 14.5 is so I can drill another gas port. At 16 it sucks with the gas port.
