It's the last thing I have to decide on for my build, and I just can't seem to decide which one to go with.  It is definitely going to be 24" stainless bull barrel in a 1:8 twist, just don't know which one to get.  I've looked at Les Bear, DPMS, RRA, WOA, Lothar Walther, American Spirit Arms, Armalite, Shilen, Hart, and others.  I am trying to build a .5 MOA gun. I want the best barrel for my money, but I don't want to spend $500 plus if its not really necessary.  What say you on who has the most accurate barrels on the market.

on some of the hunting web sites the drop in Shilens have a good following. I own DPMS,RRA,WOA and Oylimpic SUM barrels for shooters. I'd do the Shilen if ya have the extra scratch.

These are the best.

I buy Noveske and love them.  Lother Walther barrels also have some damn good range reports on here.

You are wanting a 24" bull barrel?  Do you ever plan on taking this rifle off a bench??  If so please think about this very carefully, that barrel will be too heavy to enjoy.

Sell your AR and buy a bolt action rifle, an auto loader is not what you are looking for if you are serious. No barrel/gun will get you .5 moa groups if you aren't capable as a shooter, and by the content of your post I suggest the WOA barrel and more money spent on quality ammo.  Once you are good enough to shoot your rifle to its potential, you'll know it.

This.

It's generally the "nut behind the trigger" that needs the upgrade.

In no particular order....
WOA
Hart
Krieger
Shilen
Broughton
Satern
Too many to list....

My son works at Krieger Barrels and has built an AR using one of their longer and heavier barrels.  He is upset if he cannot hold a 1" group at 200 yards - something the rifle is capable of doing all day long if he does his part as a shooter.

While I am new to the AR world, I'm anything but to bolt gun world.  I have a 22-250 and 250Savage Ackley Improved that I built, and both guns will print under a quarter MOA consistently.  So I feel pretty confident about the capabilities of the nut behind the trigger.  I am just trying to build the most accurate AR that I possibly can.  If I can only get it to shoot 1 to 1.5 MOA groups then that is the way it goes, just trying to get it under that mark as best I can.  I plan on using this gun to shoot a lot of PD's as well as other varmints, that is why I want it in an AR and not a bolt gun.  I also plan to try some of the match factory loads as well as reload myself to try and find the best possible load I can.  I just want the best barrel for my money.

AR Performance
White Oak Armament

They buy blanks from various barrel makers and prep them for the AR platform.
They know the AR and offer barrels from different makers.

Both have an excellent reputation.
