| ok guys...im fixing to get barrels for several builds im finishing up at the same time. I want chrome lined and i prefer the 1/9 twist. I want one 16" and one 20". Please feel free to give me all the feed back you want regarding quality and pros vs. cons. Please respond with the company that YOU all feel has the best barrels for the money. Im also curious about availibility. |

Many maunfacturers seem to use similiar sources; i.e. Shaw, Wilson etc; quality differs regarding what they do to them after they get the blanks. Be advised that one difference may be in the type of FSB used, for example Bushmaster doesn't use the "F" marked variety. Really depends on how much you want to spend; I'd consider Stag/RRA/CMMG to be all about the same. Bushmaster is over priced, though new unfired barrels at a reasonable cost come up on the EE every so often. I just got one at $45 less than the new price. Better than the above would be Noveske, White Oak, LMT etc.; they cost more. |
