Sorry for the noobish question, but I tried searching and didn't find the answer to my question.

I recently purchased a Colt SOCOM barrel.  It came with the FSP installed, and the barrel nut on the barrel.  However, there was not Delta Ring assembly with the barrel.  So my question is do I need to remove the FSB to get the delta ring/barrel nut assembly in place, or is there a way to get the delta ring assembly where it needs to be from behind (receiver side, over the barrel extension)?  If anyone has a link to a YouTube video, that would also be appreciated.  Thanks.

It installs from the rear and is held in place by a giant C-clip.   You are good to go.

Yep.

Slip delta ring over barrel nut, slip on delta ring spring, slip on/spread/install c clip.

Thanks for the replies.  After searching through YouTube videos for an hour or more I was able to find this one which confirms what you guys said above:

A typical "complete barrel assembly" will have just the barrel nut, the front sight base, and a handguard cap.  If you were going with a free float rail, with that barrel you could simply choose a rail that attaches to the standard barrel nut (the MI Gen 2 two piece free float rail is a good example).  If you're going with standard handguards, just get a "delta ring kit" like this one (which is currently out of stock).

Enjoy your build!
