| Hi folks, had a few spikes tactical punisher lower receivers show up the other day from aim surplus and I couldnt help but build one of them. Now I'm debating as to what to do for an upper, I'm joining a local gun club this winter at there next new member meeting. I went and checked it out a couple weeks ago and watched a uspsa match and checked out their 100yd and 600yd range. I think I'm pretty much set on building up a long range precision AR, now I realize .223 isnt going to be a tack driver at 600yds with wind etc but I would like to build the most accurate bench/range gun that I can to get into some precision shooting before tax refund time and I buy a real long range rifle. Sooooo my question is in a strictly range rifle, what barrel and twist would be best? Is 20" plenty sufficient or do I need to go with a 24", I'll be shooting match ammo or reloading haven't decided yet so it will see some heavier loads. Also any specific recommendations would be great with links, looks like sabre defense is a excellent choice but appears they are out of business? Thanks |
