I want to get a bushmaster M4 type carbine mainly because of the light weight, but I think a 14.5 inch barrel is ridiculous. Would it be possible to order it with 16 inches of barrel and a brake?

Get the Bushy 16" M4 and forget about the brake. A 16" with a brake just looks silly.

I meant that I think 14.5 inch barrels are a bit short to take efficient advantage of the .223's velocity. And if it has to be 16 inches then why not just go for 16 inches of barrel?

Yeah that 200 yard fragmentation range with TAP ammo is pretty crappy huh? You need to shoot a carbine .223 from at least 300 yards right? Hell anything closer than 300 yards is just a ridiculous shot to take. [;)]
