[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Barrel Length Question

I did a search and my Searchfu isn't strong. I am looking at getting an SBR and was wondering what the pro's/con's were of the 10.5 and 12.5 barrels. I also plan on using a suppressor for it, after I get back from my deployment, when I can afford it. Any help would be appreciated.

I think that has been discussed a few times here:

I am building a SBR as well and I am splitting the difference with a 11.5" barrel.

Ive had both

I now have a 12.5 and a 7.5 upper

I prefer the 12.5 over the 10.5. Nothing wrong with the 10.5 other than I wanted a little more range and less drop at anything over 200 yards.

I have the 7.5 for real close up

I'd say pro is a really compact weapon. Con is dick for range. For a short range gun though it'd be cool.
