I have to apologize as I posted this over on the build section, but I know this portion is probably surfed a bit more: Hello, Quick question about some of the barrel makers that offer a matched and properly "headspaced" bolt. Are these really necessary, or can I use any bolt/carrier I choose? I figure that there is a spec for proper bolt configuration. Problem is, is that I want a fully chromed carrier/bolt assy, and the barrel maker (Noveske in this case) I was looking at only offers stag/cmt (which seems to be unchromed?). The parts will be all new, and I am curious as to what a matched bolt will get me? Also specifically, a question regarding the Noveske match mod 0 chamber on the SPR noveske 18" barrel: You can still use .223 match with this chambering right? Does anybody know the difference between the standard and medium contours? Will I be happy with this barrel (for target and varmint)? Any recommendations and advice is much appreciated. Thanks again for all your help, Boomer |
