I have a couple of noob questions.
I recently purchased an AR-15.
The lower reciever is marked E.A. Co. Model: J-15 Cal: .223-5.56.

The only markings I can find on the barrel are .223 1-9. Now my question is:
Is there any way to find the barrel manufacture.

Good evening Idrews, all.

Your lower receiver is an earlier (older) Essential Arms. They don't make complete rifles or barrels. But they make really nice lowers, I have one of their newer ones. You may want to contact Essential for the date of manufacture, if it's old enough you'd have what's known as a "pre-ban." Very valuable.

Only advice that I would give is take your rifle to a shop to check it over and verify the .223 chambering and 1:9 twist rate and overall barrel condition.

If it's good to go then who made it may turn out to be not as important as you thought.

And welcome to the forum. Please keep us updated.
