I tried searching this but have come up with nothing...I have a 16" S&W MP15A, and was considering purchasing this DNTC comp http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=666
Its threaded to 1/2x28 RH. Will this fit my rifle? With no compressor installation experience will I be able to install this myself? Thanks for the help.

Yes. Can you change a automobile tire? If yes , then you will be able to do it yourself.

I would think twice before buying a brake.

Yes, it will fit OK as they have the same threads. If you have avg. mechanical skill AND the correct tool(s)––-an AR15 barrel wrench to remove the old flash suppressor and to install/tighten the new compensator––-you shouldn't have much trouble doing this work.

OK sounds like I could install it. why would you suggest I not get a brake? From what Ive read the DNTC and PSC556 significantly reduce recoil and muzzle rise. And they seem to have the least amount of extra noise/blast of any other comp. Please correct me if Im wrong, Im still researching.
