Doing my first barrel and every thing went together fine.First its a carbine barrel and instead of puting in the gas tube from the outside front of the receiver  i went through the rear and it went through fine does it matter wich end it goes through as long as the nut lug and spring and snap ring space is lined up?and second I forgot to grease the receiver threads,is this going to be a problem as I tourqed the barrel on proper and the nut went on nice and smooth?thanks..927

You may find that if you ever want to remove the barrel that not using moly on the threads could make it a tough job... sounds like you did fine on the gas tube.  You may want to consider removing the barrel and using moly on the threads, a PITA I know, but it will make a difference if you ever want to remove the barrel easily...

I agree with DarkStar on the barrel.  If it was me, I'd remove the barrel and slap some moly on there.  YMMV.

Not sure I understood what you said about the gas tube.  You mena you put on the barrel and then inserted the gas tube through the back of the receiver towards the FSB?  You did pin it to the FSB, right?  If so, sounds like you're good to go.

BTW, where are the pictures??

Thanks guys, took your advice and greased the threads, the nut was a bit tight on removal. To BOOKHOUND yeathe pin went in fine it was just that the manual said to put it in through the front of the receiver but it went easier when I put it in from the rear and pulled it forward, went into the FSB and line up with the hole perfectly...Thanks guys...Dave,Im gettindg a digital camera soon and will post pictures of my 3 preban bushies,Ive been talking about them so long I cant wait to show them. The upper I just did was going to be a flat top but a friend  traded me the new A2 upper for an old paintball gun so now I have 2 Identical carbines except 1 has the A2 grip and my main one has the trap door grip that I carry spare parts in,thats my go to rifle and the one with the highest round count.
