In a SHTF situation,i understand cleaning the BCG should be done as often as one can.In a gun with a chrome lined barrel, would it be OK to put off cleaning the barrel as much?I've read that many people don't clean the barrel "all" the time with their range guns,i'm just wondering this as i think the least amount of down time for a defense weapon would be best.

When I did a rifle class, which is the closest I hope to ever be to SHTF, I was cleaning my rifle daily. I spent a lot more time on removing the oil/grit (class in in NV) and applying new lube than detail cleaning, including the barrel.

I pretty much ran an oily patch down the bore to knock out any loose debris. BSW
