I just received my 6x45 barrel from Black Hole.  It looks great!

When I index my Rainier dimpling jig into the gas port, the jig doesn't rest against the gas block stop on the barrel.  There is a gap about 1mm between the jig and the stop on the barrel.

I marked the holes through the dimpler and see that the gas block is going to also not rest completely against the stop on the barrel.

Thoughts?  Should I dimple and install the gas block and not worry about it or should I mark the holes though the gas block and drill the best I can?

Thanks in advance,

Use the jig and install it with the gap, that's the correct location. The gap is where the end cap would go if you were using the standard plastic non-free float type of handguards.

Thanks for your reply!   I figured it was more important to line up the gas port than have it sit against the barrel stop!

In all of my builds, I have NEVER had a gas block sit up against the shoulder.

I believe there is usually a gap regardless of what you mount up to compensate for the use of an endcap for though who want to use standard handguards.  I had the gap there when I installed my Adams Arms gas block once it was properly set.  I was using a FF handguard.
