Is it difficult to change the barrel extension if you have the correct tools? Do I need to change the extension to make an M2 into an M4, or can I dremel the M2 extension into an M4 configuration?
My uppers have M4 cuts and the barrels I have are not M4. |
| Changing barrel extensions is not really something the average AR owner can do & it's not something even most gunsmiths will tackle. It's just not practical. The barrel extention is installed & then the gas port is drilled at the factory. It's done in that order for a reason, so you can imagine why it's not practical to change them out. Either buy a barrel with the cuts or change to a receiver without them. |
