I need to know why i have 3 "Colt" barrels...  But one looks different.  The M4 barrel (TOP) in picture has a small step cut near flash hider "Arrow".   All My barrels have this.  Why does (Bottom) barrel not have small step?    This barrel is Heavy under hand guards-- and has 99 stamped on it.   Why is it "strait" at end near flash hider? Anyone?

Is it new or used? It could have been threaded after the ban.

Because it's a Colt HBAR barrel .

MIL-SPEC barrels have the step for compatability with something.  NATO rifle grenades, I think.  Bushmaster takes the time to cut in the little step even on their HBARs so I had always assumed that Colt did too.  I guess not.

Unless you plan on using your HBAR to launch rifle grenades you should be okay with the step.
