building my first AR. Use will be varmint/predator hunting with some target shooting. Long rage shooting(for me) up to 600yds max. looking to use 50-55grain bullets- so a 1in9 or 1 in 10 twist?
Been looking at the following barrels -
DPMS 20" bull
Olympic 20" ultramatch and
Wilson 20" Super sniper.

Any opinions?
Thanks in advance for help.

I would honestly go with the Wilson 20", or maybe try WhiteOak Armament's 20". Both of these will be accurate for target shooting.

I'd avoid the bull barrel simply for weight issues, especially if you plan on carrying it in the field.
HBAR/Government profile is the best weight:accuracy IMO. Also, if you plan on going for a CMP rifle at some point (target), the 20" HBAR/Government will serve you better.

Go for a 1:9 twist for 50-55gr.

Although if you plan on shooting to 600 Y, you may have to eventually go to 75-80gr. In that case, I would advice getting a 1:8 or 1:7 barrel to stabilize heavier bullets.

In all likelihood the Oly barrel will be the most accurate out of the three you listed.

Thanks for the advice NH. As I was figuring, I really need to build 2 AR's for what I want I think.
I looked at the WO 20" also, but my concern with it was the choice of only 1:7 or 1:12 twist. Seems to be at the far end of the range either way for what I am looking at.
Any other barrels that I am missing out on? I'm new to the AR so I know there are places i havnt looked.
Thanks again to all.

I like 1:7 because it can stabilize anything from a 50gr to a 80 gr. I try to get 1:7 for all my ARs because it is IMO the most versatile.

In reality, I've heard of 1:9 barrels being able to stabilize some 75 gr too. YMMV
