What is the shortest length barrel I can get on a Ar15 if it depends on the state I live in TN,MS. this is my first build thanks alot. |

Dunno on the state level, but the shortest allowable barrel under Federal Law, without registration as an NFA weapon, is 16 inches for a rifle. This is measured from the closed breechface to the muzzle. Any flash hider or muzzle attachment does NOT count UNLESS it is permanently attached in a manner acceptable to BATF. (Welding, high heat silver solder or blind pinning, being the four approved methods. Local laws may vary.  Lonny |
