I torqued my barrel nut to around 50-55 foot pounds am I going to run into any issues?

30 ft/lb minimum, not to exceed 80 ft/lb is spec.  You should be GTG.

That's pretty much in the middle of the specs. What issues are you concerned about ?

I used aeroshell 33ms grease.   I was simply worried about damaging my upper  or stripping threads.

You are not likely to strip threads on a new upper until you get over 100 ft/lbs.
You are more likely to have problems with the index pin first, but even that should be at well over the 80 ft/lb max.
