The barrel I have on order has "mil spec barrel extensions per US Drawing 8558440."
Can someone decifer this for me? I have no idea what it means!

I believe that indicates it's a A2 rifle feed ramps. The M-4 ramp drawing begins with a 9. So you should probably expect normal feed ramps. If this is the case, ensure you don't have M-4 cutouts in the lower receiver as this will create a groove that could catch a round as it is chambered. I'll try and find the thread with pics.

I would appreciate that very much. I would do a search myself, but everytime I do, I get "no topics found." I swear I could do a search on "AR" and not get any results!
If you can't find any pics, could you describe the M4 cutouts? I'm not sure what to look for. If it helps, I have an AFM lower. |

Check out here
link I'm trying to find one more thread with the actual drawing numbers |

Here's the other thread....I meant to say upper receiver in my first post. The M-4 cutouts extend into the upper receiver, not the lower.

Thanks for the reply and pics. Helped a lot. Right after I posted my response, I realized you had to be talking about the upper receiver! Explains why I had to ask this question!
My upper is an LMT. I bought the whole deal as an assembly. So, assuming they do it right, it should match. Time will tell, I have to wait until mid March to get it. Thanks again. |
