Just got a carbine barrel from a friend that turned out to be a 14.5" 1/12 pencil barrel.

For legality reasons I'd rather have a true 16" barrel but I'm unsure on whether to get a std carbine or get the mid-length.

What I "do" want... 1/9 twist and chrome lined and preferably "pencil" profile.

Value of the old USGI 14.5?

Options on the 16" barrel?

Thanks!

Nope not right now, it's nothing special...just a 14.5 "pencil" profile Colt bbl, "CMP B" marked.

14.5" barrel and 1 in 12 turn too short for spin stability using normal length bullets. You will get flyers and wind deviation errors. Not that it wont shoot. But count on the errors listed in your range outings.
