I have a Bushmaster varminter 24" with a matched bolt. The bolt needs to be replaced. so,question is does it matter what bolt I go with? Do I need to get another matched bolt or can I use something else? thanks

Edit** I have 3700 rounds thru the Barrel if that helps?

you can use any bolt you want. I would recommend checking the headspace if the barrel has a lot of rounds through it

If there was a such thing as a "matched bolt" then it would be a moot point once your barrel is used, however, any new or slightly used bolt that's in-spec will work just fine.

Thank You both, This is what I figured.... I have had the "matched bolt" debate with some friends and I get mixed responses. Some say it's just a marketing ploy and other think it's somebody finding the best fit and selling it with the barrel?...either way I just want to get back to shooting!
