I'm in need of some barrel suggestions for my first build

. 223/5.56 1/7 or 1/8 twist

I have decided on a 16 inch mid length
Or an 18 inch rifle length

Either will suit my needs I would prefer 18 inch rifle length

I have an aero upper and lower
rra lpk rra 6 postion stock and
Novenske rifle length hand guard
spikes bcg

Gun will not  be used for hd
Will be a just for fun blaster target gun
I would be satisfied with 1.5 moa at 100 with handloads
Able to dig a 6 inch plate at 100 yards with ots ammo
And my budget is 225. 00
Ps plan on using an sjc titan or rolling thunder compensator

Thanks Mat

I picked up some nice barrels from Here had good luck with them. In fact I just ordered two m4 barrels today for my next builds truck guns. Most of the barrels here come in under your budget.

This barrel fits what you are looking for

NEMO Arms 18" SS, 1:8 twist, Rifle Length gas system

I have a NEMO Arms OMEN RECON and that barrel is very accurate. I think you will have a hard time finding something of better quality at the $220 price point.

Click Here and Search Ar15 partsfinder.com

Find barrels on the left
Type 16 and search

Don't add too many filter options.. as sometimes it will omit stuff you might want to see.
Looks to be lots of barrels in that price range.

Don't buy ice....

I am in the middle of my first build also. I was looking for a barrel with the same specs you listed.

Passed on a Bargera and went with a Green Mountain GM-M8.

16" 1/8 chrome lined mid gas. Being shipped as we speak. 163 and change delivered to my door.

Doesn't hurt to take a look.

Scotts

I picked up a pistol barrel, it looks fine especially for the $. I have plans to shot it this weekend. I believe he machines them in house.

In our conversations I asked if he purchases the barrels/blanks for resale and he said: "we start with raw stock 4140cm and 416ss and go to the finished product. except for the coating"

Fast shipping and quick responding to my questions. If it shoots well I will consider him for my next build.

This is what I just put in my first build and I had no problems with headspacing.  I think it will be a tack driver when I get it broken in.

I run the Rainier Select.  Comes with an MOA guarantee and is close to your $$$.  I'm getting .75 MOA with my handloads, and others are doing slightly better still.  Could not be happier.

Also take a look at ar15performance.com.  Thinking when I do my 6.5 upper that's how I'm going just to change things up.  5R rifling and the melonite everything, and you don't hear much bad about them.
