Hello.  I am putting together a varment rig, have a bull barrell that is not threaded.  It is about 7/8" outisde diameter.  I would like to try this myself and am curoius what would be the appropriate thread––I intend to mount my new AAC 7.62 suppressor.

the thread that the suppressor has, would be a great start. my guess 5/8-24.

Note unless you have a lath and can zero off the id of the bore I would not try this.  Threads that are not concentric with the bore can cause your expensive can to burst when a bullet strikes it.  Barrel OD is never concentric enough with the ID to trust it for a can mount. Spend the cash and have a shop do the work.

+1
It ought to be interesting to see a can mounted on a bull barrel.
