[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Barrel type

I'm doing my first AR build and I'm ready to purchase the barrel, I'm looking for a 20" 5.56, I've found two but not sure which one to get
First one is a heavy barrel with a 1/9 twist and the othe is a govt profile with a 1/7 twist

Looking for opinions

I say get the government profile because the heavy barrel will make your rifle front end heavy. Bcm has quality 20" government profile barrels in stock. I have one and its great.

Unless you're planning to just sit at a bench or use it with an autosear, the light choice is the right choice.

Whichever one you get make sure its a 1:7 twist so you can shoot heavy rounds which will equal flatter trajectory.
