Does anyone know the difference in weight on a 20" M16A2 contour barrel compaired to a 20" Rock River HBAR, if both were postban config.? Years ago, (too many) I used to shoot a M16A1 and it seemed alot lighter than my RR AR15.

I think the military barrels are .630" under the handguards.

Does anyone make a 20" lightweight barrel?

Plain A2 barrel - 2.5 lbs
Plain HBAR barrel - 3.5 lbs

Yes, the original A2 is 0.63" under the handguard.

Yes.  Bushmaster has the A2 govt profile.  Armalite might too, and probably Colt.  Or for $50 you can have KKF turn your HBAR into one.
