I looked and have seen some refrences to thies questions but help me out.

I'm looking at a new SPR and thinking of loading it in 6.8 SPC.

I'm not ging to build this rifle I'll buy it compleate right now Noveskie 18" N4 with his SS 1 in 12 barrel is the primary contender.

Questions:

I have seen some say you can use standard AR mags in/for a 6.8 SPC. Ths true? for both 20 and 30 round mags? How many rounds can you load in each? P-Mags yes no?

For a 1 in 12 barrel what weight range loads can I use?

I supose that it for now, thank you!

NO. Use the 6.8 mags, made by CProudcts marked 6.8mm. For more information go to  WWW.68forums.com, bunch of great guys who know a lot about the  6.8x43,but also be prepared for a wealth of good information.

IIRC, Barrett makes the best 6.8 mags.

Ok so the 6.8 takes it's own mag hmm one of the +'s for 6.8 was the idea of NOT buying new mags.

Thanks guys!

Yep the 6.8 needs it's own magazines.  Sure you and load a few 6.8 rounds in a 5.56 magazines, but you're not getting anything.

If you want an alternate (bigger) caliber that uses standard magazines then look to the 6x45, .300 Whisper, or the .458 SOCOM.

Personally I'd say spend a few bucks on magazines and get the 6.8.

By the way,you can buy 6.8 mags made by C Products SS,at 44mag.com for 12.99 ea.  I never ever had a problem with CProduct mags 6.8 or 308. Spend a lot for a rifle, buy the proper mags. I don't know who told you, you could use 556 mags, but they were mistaken.

If you can afford a complete Noveske gun you can afford a few mags.

That's true.

But it's not the price it's bout having a non-standard mag when I have a pile of AR mags already.

No one, was a misconception and why I wanted to ask folks who knew more than I do about this platform. So I asked!

It may not keep me from a 6.8 but was one of the +'s for going this way.

I've had good experiences with both 30rd Barrett's and 17 round C-Products...yes even the 17rd that seems to plague most with problems works just fine in mine.
