The BattLE grip has compartments for two sets of different size batteries. The smaller ones are for the batteries for the Aimpoint Comp series, the second set for the DL123 batteries used in the Surefire flashlights. Between the two sets of batteries are two bits of foam.

I found that the foam can be replaced with E.A.R. foam ear plugs that not only keep the batteries from making noise but could be use to protect your ears if you had forgotten to carry hearing protection.

Not the discovery for the cure for cancer but a useful tiny tip.

Foam ear plugs also work great in Vltor tubes

I don't know about you guys, but I had a REALLY hard time getting the foam to come out in the first place, so foam ear plugs, being smaller, would probably do much better.
